ABOUT THE MOVIE

Miley (Miley Cyrus) is becoming overwhelmed with Hannah's popularity. Robbie Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus) manages to persuade Miley to travel to her hometown, Crowley Corners, Tennessee, to reflect about the things that really matter in her life.

Miley chooses to go as her alter ego, Hannah Montana, to Lilly's (Emily Osment) Sweet Sixteen which causes much mayhem. Both Miley and Robbie Ray have love interests; Miley's old friend Travis Brody (Lucas Till) plays Miley's love interest. Robbie's love interest is Melora Hardin. Also, there is Mr. Granger (Peter Gunn), a local, who knows and tries to reveal Miley's secret.

Walt Disney Records released the movie soundtrack on March 24, 2009, with songs by Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Steve Rushton.[26] The score was originally to be written by Oscar-nominated composer Alan Silvestri, and he penned a new song with Glen Ballard, "Butterfly Fly Away", which is sung in the film. However, he had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which he was also signed to score. Stepping in was composer John Debney, who recorded his score with the Hollywood Studio Symphony at the Sony Scoring Stage.[27] The album debuted #2 on the Billboard 200 with 137,592 sold first week.
